German translation of Drago Jančar's novel Wenn die Liebe ruht, translated by Daniela Kocmut, was published in July by Zsolnay Verlag. The author will be on tour this autumn, visiting Graz (16 October, Kulturzentrum Minoriten), Frankfurt (dodaj link na drugo novico), Marburg (21 October) and later Brussels on the occasion of the publication of the Dutch translation of the same novel, En ook de liefde (Querido, translated by Roel Schuyt).

The second part of Logbuch der Gegenwart: Aufbrechen by Aleš Šteger was recently published by Haymon Verlag (translated into German by Matthias Göritz). Besides Frankfurt book fair the author will have a readings also in Düsseldorf (7. 9.), Graz (10. 9.), Salzburg (19. 9.), Bremen (21. 10.) and in Berlin (25. 10.). His poetry collection Über dem Himmel unter der Erde translated by Matthias Göritz was published by Hanser this spring. A poem from the collection was filmed in a short film titled Smile of our Poets, filmed in collaboration with the Slovenian accordionist Jure Tori.

A German translation of Mirt Komel's Goldman oder Der Klang der Welt is coming up this autumn. The author will be presenting the book on 8 November at 12:00 at Buch Wien, on 22 November in Lettretage in Berlin and later in December at Buchquartier in Vienna.

Der Stiefsohn by Jurij Hudolin, his latest novel translated into German by Daniela Kocmut and published by Septime Verlag, will be out in October, just in time for the Frankfurt Book Fair.

We also welcomed an original German book about architecture in Slovenia, Architekturführer: Slowenien by DOM publishers. A comprehensive edition with photos is a must-read for all architecture lovers.

Two eagerly awaited Italian translations of Slovenian authors came out this August: a masterpiece by a 20. century Slovenian classic Vitomil Zupan Minuetto per chittara (a venticinque colpi) translated by Patrizia Raveggi (Voland) and a current Slovenian bestseller Il bianco si lava a novanta by Bronja Žakelj, which won the novel of the year 2018 award (translated by Michele Obit, published by Bottega Errante Editioni). The author will have several readings in Italy this autumn: at the Pordenonelegge: festival in Pordenone on September 22, at the Barcolana regatta festival on October 4 in Trieste and at Il libro delle 18.03 on October 31 in Gorizia.

Drago Jančar also has a new Spanish translation: Aquella Noche la vi was translated by Florencia Ferre and published by Bärenhaus in Buenos Aires. Another Spanish translation by Florencia Ferre is also El billar en el hotel Dobray by Dušan Šarotar, published by Villa Maria in Argentina.

Mojca Kumerdej’s novel The Harvest of Chronos, which was published in German earlier this year, has now been published in Croatian as well by Fraktura publishing house under the title Kronosova žetva (translated by Anita Peti Stantić).

Jana Bauer continues to impress young readers around the world with her scary fairy: this time the first book in the series was translated into Serbian and Macedonian by Jelena Budimirović and Lidija Dimkovska respectively. The books were published by Laguna Belgrade and Artkonekt Skopje.

September will be an exciting month for comic book lovers: Slovenian publisher Stripburger will be having a comprehensive exhibition of Slovenian comics in neurotitan gallery:
