Drago Jančar and Lila Prap at the International Istanbul Poetry and Literature Festival
The festival ranks among Turkey's most revered and popular string of literary events, which take place at various location all over Istanbul. Although poetry readings are at the forefront of the gala, since the festival was enriched with the non-lyrical aspect of literature only last year, many events are dedicated to prose and children's literature. The author and illustrator Lila Prap is scheduled to head a drawing workshop for children. The writer, playwright and essayist Drago Jančar is scheduled to be a guest at several literary readings at one Istanbul's central bookstores and participate in an international round table discussion. In addition to many domestic authors (Mario Levi, Ahmet Ümit, Gülce Başer etc.), the festival will also host other lauded literary names, such as British writer Jason Goodwin, Australian poet Philip Hammial, Chinese poetess Zhao Si and French philosopher Eric Sadin.
