The Slovenian booth (Hall 5.0, No. B126) features the newest publishers' choice of works (published in 2014 and 2015 respectively). The vendors have stocked the booth with foreign language catalogues and other promotional material highlighting acclaimed Kresnik Award recipients between the years of 2010 and 2015 (Tadej Golob, Drago Jančar, Andrej E. Skubic, Goran Vojnović, Davorin Lenko) as well as authors, who have been in the focus due to various noteworthy achievements or important anniversaries respectively (Gabriela Babnik, Nataša Kramberger, Miki Muster, Boris Pahor, Slavoj Žižek).

On Thursday, 15 October 2015, at noon, a Slovenian Book Agency delegation officially submitted a candidature file on behalf of Slovenia for the title of Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair to the Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair, Mr Jürgen Boos. Should the Slovenian bid succeed, the country would become only the third Slavic state in the thirty-year history of this distinguished title to receive the honour and the first in 15 years, since Russia. The Slovenian Book Agency, which has received a mandate from the government of the Republic of Slovenia to commence with the appropriate preparatory activities as early as possible, set out to follow the orders this year.
