The organizers have invited eight distinguished representatives of German publishing and media companies: Petra Hardt (Suhrkamp Verlag), Kristine Kress  (Ullstein Verlag), Maike Nedo (Berlin Verlag), Thorsten Ahrend (Wallstein Verlag), Alexander Roesler (S.Fischer Verlag), Doris Akrap (Tageszeitung) Paul Ingendaay (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) and Gregor Dotzauer (Tagesspiegel). The German contingent is scheduled to visit Bled, Ljubljana, Sežana (Tomaj), Lipica and Trieste.

Our journey begins on Thursday, 9 June, with a visit to the annual publishers’ meeting organized by the Slovenian Publishers Association. The attendees will be welcomed by the Director of the Slovenian Book Agency, Mr Aleš Novak. Throughout the course of the meeting, interested Slovenian publishers will have the opportunity to meet and converse with their German colleagues. Dr. Petra Hardt, a renowned copyright and translation rights specialist with over twenty years of experience in the field and representative of the Suhrkamp Verlag will hold a lecture  with the title "Copyright and Translation Rights – A Marvel Neglected by too many Publishers".

Dr. Hardt's speech will be followed by a roundtable discussion revolving around the recent challenges faced by German publishers. The roundtable in English will be hosted by Renata Zamida, who will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with Thorsten Ahrend (Wallstein), Alexander Roesler (S. Fischer), Kristine Kress (Ullstein) and Maike Nedo (Berlin Verlag).

In the afternoon, our guests will visit the Bled islet, the venue of a literary event with Mojca Kumerdej and acclaimed historian and 16th-century expert Dr. Sašo Jerše. The event will revolve around Mojca Kumerdej's new novel titled Kronosova žetev  (The Harvest of Chronos). The evening session will feature a conversation with world-renowned philosopher Dr. Slavoj Žižek.

On Friday, 10 June, our guests will be privy to a guided literary tour of Ljubljana. The schedule features a boat ride along the Ljubljanica river with writer Jani Virk and translator Amalija Maček who will talk about Virk's novel Smeh za leseno pregrado (Laughter Behind the Wooden Fence). In the afternoon, our guests will be welcomed by Samo Kristan who will accompany them on a tour of the Manuscript Department of the National and University Library (NUK), where they will be acquainted with the works of Alma Karlin and behold the original edition of Jurij Dalmatin's Bible. The group will also be joined by writer and poet Milan Dekleva (author of the novel Telo iz Črk (A Body Made of Letters)) and editor, publicist and translator Jerneja Jezernik, a prolific and devoted researcher of the spiritual, literary and material heritage of the renowned world-traveller and internationally-acclaimed writer Alma M. Karlin.

Our journey will then take us to the Karst region of Slovenia – to Sežana and Tomaj. On Saturday, 11 June, our guests will be treated to a tour of the Lipica Stud Farm, after which the will board the tram to visit Jože Pirjevec, the author of the monograph Tito in tovariši (Tito and His Comrades). Later, writer Marko Sosič, who will take us on a literary journey through Trieste, will also join the group. Our guests will be acquainted with the author's recent literary exploits, particularly with his novels  Tito, amor mijo (Tito, My Love), which was also translated into German by Ann Catrin Apstein-Müller, and the Kratki roman o snegu in ljubezni (A Short Novel About Snow and Love).

The three-day visit conclude with an event hosted at the Movia Vinery in Ljubljana, where our guests will be treated to assorted wines and a literary introduction to six Slovenian poetry greats: Srečko Kosovel, Lili Novy, Dane Zajc, Edvard Kocbek, Tomaž Šalamun and Stanka Hrastelj.
