Presentation of the highly acclaimed anthology of Slovenian poetry of the 20th and 21st centuries, published in 2023 by C. Hanser Verlag in cooperation with the German Academy for Language and Literature.

Description:

Mein Nachbar auf der Wolke (My Neighbour on a Cloud) (Hanser) is a comprehensive anthology of Slovenian poetry from the turn of the century to the present day. In our neighbouring country, writing poetry has always been a survival strategy: from avant-garde poetry around 1900 to the poems of the young poetry scene, which found expression between techno and cross-border revolutions. For the first time, a bilingual anthology presents the entire wealth of Slovenian poetry from the beginning of the 20th century to today.

The evening will feature performances by several poets from Slovenia who are presented in the anthology. Among others: Barbara Korun, Cvetka Lipuš, Boris A. Novak, Milan Dekleva and Gregor Podlogar. Hosts: Amalija Maček and Matthias Göritz. Reading of German translations: Matthias Göritz. Afterwards, music will be played by DJ Gregor Podlogar.
