Traduki - A Story of Success

The Traduki Network supports translations from German to the languages of Southeastern Europe and vice versa, while also supporting translations between the Southeastern European languages themselves. Traduki also organises events, offers residential grants and is active online (for example through podcasts). It was founded in 2007 and has since developed into an important institution, which has enabled many literary projects. Traduki sustains quality through a thorough selection of authors and translators. Connecting cultural institutions with individuals from war-torn regions is also a mission of peace, which contributes to the stability of the given area. Antje Contius, who also led Traduki for many years, has been participating in this project since the very beginning along with its current head Angelika Salvisberg. The most important Slovenian contributor has always been Katja Stergar, the director of the Slovenian Book Agency and the leader of Slovenia guest of honour project at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023. Traduki is very meaningful for Slovenia, among other things because of collective appearances at the Leipzig book fair. Seid Serdarević (Fraktura publishing house from Zagreb) has also been working closely together with the Traduki network and will present the foundation and activities of Traduki from his point of view.
