Read Books, Move It!

The reading habits of Slovenian students, particularly secondary school students, are, according to the findings of a study conducted by PISA (an international study in reading, mathematics and science literacy), declining each year. That is why the Agency launched the national campaign for the promotion of reading "Read Books, Move It!" to convince secondary school students that reading in their free time can be as interesting as watching television or chatting online.

In the framework of the campaign "Read Books, Move It!" Slovenian celebrities encouraged young people to read through their example and special activities. They helped set up book clubs in secondary schools, libraries, bookshops and elsewhere, where teenagers can meet, read selected books, discuss them and in this way hone their critical thinking and language skills under the guidance of professors or librarians.
